This page initially started out to just be a recipe page for my Yoga cookies, I found myself adding more recipes for things like smoothies especially as the days get warmer.  Enjoy and remember, these recipes are ones that have been road tested.


Rodney's Siddha Yoga Cookies

Please note that the nutritional information has been accurately updated to reflect the correct number of cookies per batch.

Recipe Summary
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 18 to 20 minutes
Yield: about 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups of quick-cooking Oatmeal
2 1/2 cups of Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup of dark Raisins
1 cup of golden Raisins
1 cup of ground Almonds (use a coffee grinder)
3/4 cup of Vegetable Oil
1 1/2 cups Clover Honey (use local honey)
3/4 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
3/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Grease 1 or more cookie sheets.  In a large bowl, add the wet ingredients together mixing thoroughly.  Sift together Flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon; stir into wet mixture.  Fold in the oatmeal and the ground almonds, blending well. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes.

(Nutritional information for 1 cookie:  175 Calories, 8.1g Fat, 35mg Sodium, 23g carbohydrates, 3g Protein, 2.4g Fiber,  6.1% RDA Iron, 2.85% RDA Calcium.)


Directions for all smoothie recipes:
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Add ice cubes to your desired thickness.

 

Coffee Chocolate Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Chocolate Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 teaspoon of Instant Coffee
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1 cup of Soy Milk (vanilla or chocolate)
1/2 of a banana (medium size)


Mocha Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Chocolate Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 teaspoon of Instant Coffee
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1 cup of Chocolate Soy Milk
1/2 a honey graham crasher sheet


Cappuccino Cream Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Chocolate Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 teaspoon of Instant Coffee
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
2 teaspoons of sugar free and fat free chocolate syrup


Orange Vanilla Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla extract
1/4 cup of 100% orange juice


Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Strawberry Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
3 large strawberries
1/4 cup of fresh pineapple (chopped and drained)
1/2 cup of 100% orange juice


Banana Nut Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/2 of a banana (medium size)
1 teaspoon of ground Almonds or Walnuts


Blueberry and Peach Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
2 ounces of low-fat plain Yogurt
1/4 cup of 100% orange juice
1/4 cup of blueberries
1/4 cup of sliced peaches


Raspberry and Peach Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/4 cup of sliced peaches
1/4 cup of raspberries


Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Strawberry Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1/2 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
2 large strawberries
1/2 of a banana (medium size)


Citrus Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 tablespoon of Wheat Germ
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of pineapple juice
1/4 cup of pineapple chunks
1/4 cup of 100% orange juice


Fruit Medley Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 scoop Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
4 strawberries
8 cherries, pitted
5 peach slices
1/2 a banana
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk


My Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 scoops Chocolate Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 banana
1/2 cup of Soy Yogurt
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk


Strawberry Low Carb Smoothie

Ingredients:

4 strawberries
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/2 cup low fat Soy yogurt


Banana-Orange Low Carb Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana
1 orange sliced and unseeded
1/2 cup low fat Soy yogurt
1 cup of 100% orange juice


Fruity Soy Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana
1/2 cup of strawberries
1/2 cup of raspberries
1/2 cup of cherries, pitted
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/2 cup Soy Yogurt


Ice cream Soy Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of strawberries
1 banana
1 large peach, sliced and pitted
1/2 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/2 cup Soy Ice Cream, any flavor


Fruity Whey Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 or 2 scoops Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
3 large strawberries
1/4 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1 banana
1/2 cup of low fat yogurt


High Whey Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 or 2 scoops Vanilla Whey protein (or meal replacement) powder
1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk
1/4 cup of almonds
1/2 cup of raisins
1 banana
